Best of the West gathers Landcare facilitators from the Mallee, Wimmera and Glenelg Hopkins Catchments for an annual training event. Earlier this autumn we all met up at Little Desert Nature Lodge south of Nhill.

They say the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago! Tepper’s node was the first ever Yarrilinks Planting in 1999. 25 years later it’s providing habitat and a source of pride for landholder David Tepper.

FrogID week, held annually in November, is Australia’s biggest frog count. We went for a twilight walk on a balmy evening in Rupanyup, complete with a froggy chorus!
